PM concludes official visits to Malaysia and Singapore

(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and the Vietnamese delegation arrived in Hanoi Sunday night concluding their official visit to Malaysia and attendance at Singapore’s 50th National Day Parade on August 9. The trip opened new cooperation opportunities and prospects.

Before leaving Singapore, Prime Minister Dung and seven heads of state and foreign dignitaries from 18 countries, attended Singapore’s National Day Parade in Padang.

Mr. Dung’s presence at the event was a token of the best wishes Vietnamese people wished to send to the Singaporeans and contributed to consolidating bilateral strategic ties.

At a meeting earlier, Prime Minister Dung and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong expressed their pleasure at the fine development in economics, trade, and investment between the two countries with the outstanding example being the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP) that have been developed across Vietnam.

PM Dung took the occasion to announce that Vietnam has completed necessary preparations for the construction of a sixth industrial park in Nghe An province, slated for the fourth quarter of this year, and has begun preparations for a seventh zone.

The two leaders discussed increased coordination of relevant agencies in both nations to make it easier for Vietnamese citizens to immigrate to Singapore.
