South Korean President visits US

(VOVWORLD) -South Korean President Moon Jae-in arrived in Washington on Monday for talks with US counterpart Donald Trump on strategies for Trump's upcoming high-stakes summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

An official from Seoul's Presidential Office said Moon is scheduled to meet Trump on Tuesday, beginning with a 30-minute private meeting where the leaders will be accompanied only by their interpreters. The official said that it will likely be a chance for them to share their inner-most thoughts.

In related news, the White House has announced the release of a commemorative “coin” to mark the upcoming US-North Korea summit. One side of the coin features Air Force One taking off over the White House, while the flip side depicts silhouettes of Trump and Kim. The coin refers to Kim as “supreme leader,” and denotes the occasion as “peace talks.”
