(VOVworld) - Thailand’s caretaker Prime Minister Niwatthamrong Bunsongphaisan says the interim government will do its best to make the election happen. In an interview with foreign media on Monday, he said that the government leaves open the possibility of talks with protesters but only “a practical dialogue”. Prime Minister Niwattumrong said Thailand will not have a civil war since the government is dealing well with the current unrest. He said that all parties - the government, political factions, protesters, and pro-government “red shirt” supporters should be engaged in seeking solutions in line with the constitution, the law, and the democratic process. Niwatthamrong Bunsongphaisan was named caretaker Prime Minister by the Thai cabinet last Wednesday, after the constitutional court dismissed Yingluck Shinawatra because of accusations that she abused power and violated the constitution. The Thai caretaker government will hold a general election on July 20.
