As the country celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the Hanoi Museum presents a special exhibition, “Memories of Reunification Day,” taking visitors back to the heroic time.
Photos, documents, and wartime memorabilia portray the sacrifices, losses, and unbreakable spirit to achieve peace for the nation.

Smoke and fire marks remain on the rusty metal.
Canteens, medical kits, diaries, and handwritten letters are donated by veterans. Each item holds a story and a memory, preserved with gratitude and pride.
This medical kit belongs to Colonel Nguyen Van Hoa, a military doctor from Hanoi. In 1964, he volunteered to serve in the Central Highlands, where he treated wounded soldiers on the B3 battlefield.
Anti-aircraft artillery, used by the Van Don Women’s Self-Defense Force in Hanoi, shot down a US F-111 jet in December 1972.
Made by Hanoi Mechanical Company in the 1950s, this siren was placed on the factory roof to alert workers and locals when American planes were about to bomb the area.
Documentary images transport viewers back to the harsh struggle until the country was fully unified.
There were smiles mixed with tears on the day of complete victory.
Spectators watch the exhibited items.
Many families bring their children to the exhibition to understand their homeland's history.
“Memories of Reunification Day” exhibition runs until May 4, 2025, in Hanoi Museum.
