Mr. Hue and other Vietnamese officials also talked about economic achievements Vietnam has recorded over the years and challenges facing the national economy.

Vietnam’s aims to improve growth quality and promote long-term sustainable development, along with the country’s response to climate change in the Mekong Delta were also discussed.

Formed ten years ago, the VELP is the initiative of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry and Havard University. It serves as a forum for leaders of the government, ministries and localities to exchange views on policies.

On Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister Hue and his entourage visited the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s innovation centre.
