Diplomats discuss sanctions against Syria

Over 60 diplomats of the so-called "Friends of Syria" group gathered in Scheveningen, the Netherlands yesterday/ on Thursday to discuss sanctions against Syria. Host of the meeting Dutch Foreign Minister Uri Rosenthal advocated making the sanctions against the Syrian government more efficient. The meeting focused on tightening loopholes and enforcing current sanctions, which include an oil and arms embargo. Rosenthal underlined the necessity that "countries cooperate together in order to isolate the regime of Basharal Assad."
