Vietnamese caregivers allowed to work at patient’s homes

(VOVworld) - Foreign certified professional caregivers, including those from Vietnam will be allowed to work at patients’ homes as from April, 2017 pursuant to a recent decision by the Japanese Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare. This is part of the economic partnership agreement (EPA) Japan signed with Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam.

Under the agreement, caregivers from the three ASEAN member states will be trained and work in Japan for four years. Once they have passed the national examination, they will be allowed to work permanently in Japan.
