The documentary novel portrays Phan Dang Luu (1902-1941) – a revolutionary and an outstanding Vietnamese intellectual who abandoned the life of an official in the colonial regime, joined the Phuc Viet Association, the former name of Tan Viet Party, and then became a key leader of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Writer Nguyen The Ky faithfully recreated the revolutionary’s life and career full of creativity, hardships and sacrifices.
Mr. Ky told the book launch ceremony, “As we are looking forward to the 13th National Party Congress, we often talk about Party building and rectification. In each of us there is darkness and dawn. Darkness is personal calculations and interests. Dawn is represented by thinking about everybody and the country. Through this novel, I want to say that at historical moments and in daily life, a Party member need to be exemplary and humble, and dare to devote themselves to important things. Party members must be decent people and must know how to fight and to sacrifice."
