In recent years, the market has become increasingly crowded as many local residents make Chung cake (square glutinous rice cake) by themselves.

Traders sell thousands of Dong leaves and bamboo strings every day as they are the main items used to wrap Chung cakes, a traditional cake present in every Tet meal of Vietnamese people.
