Hanoi Old Quarter’s traditional handicrafts featured in exhibition

Ha Vi and Tu Thi Communal Houses in Hang Gai Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, are hosting a thematic exhibition “The Story of the Street’s Communal House”.

Ha Vi Communal House at 11 Hang Hom Street is the place to worship the godfather of lacquer painting in Vietnam – Tran Lu (1470-1540)

Stories about lacquering in Vietnam are told in an exceptionally creative way.

Young artists have created an installation space using lacquer materials.

Traditional lacquer making tools have been recreated for the exhibition.

Tu Thi communal house at 2A Yen Thai Street of Hanoi is a national historical and cultural relic worshiping Le Cong Hanh, the founder of the embroidery guild (1606-1661). Although hidden in a small alley, this place is frequented by tourists.
