According to local folklore, a renowned geomancer discovered a dragon vein shaped like the scales of a carp extending toward the sea. Fearing it would bring misfortune to the imperial court, he used magical powers to sever the vein. The broken scales scattered and formed the jagged rocks shaped like a dragon’s head that we see today.
Beneath Vi Rong Cape are sheer cliffs forming a natural arch, where swiftlets make their shelter.
