During the 8-month period, the city licensed over 1,360 new FDI projects with a total registered capital exceeding 3.73 billion USD.

The science and technology sector recorded 467 new projects with a combined registered capital of over 599 million USD. The Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park has fostered a technology ecosystem that attracts leading global corporations such as Intel, Samsung, Jabil, and BESI. This signals a gradual shift in capital flows toward sectors characterized by higher technology content and greater value-added.

By sector, FDI remains concentrated in key industries. Real estate accounts for the largest share at 31.6%, followed by information and communication; wholesale and retail; manufacturing and processing; and professional, scientific, and technical activities.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority (HEPZA), by mid-August, total investment capital—comprising both new and adjusted projects—in these zones exceeded 5 billion USD, surpassing the annual target by over 21%. Of this total, FDI accounted for more than 4 billion USD.

Capital inflows into Ho Chi Minh City stem from new investors and also from the need to expand production and business operations within the existing business sector.
