The Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership continues to be one of the top priorities and a strategic choice in Vietnam's foreign policy, General Secretary and President Lam said in an interview with Russia's TASS news agency ahead of his state visit.
This is the first state visit to Russia by the Head of the Vietnamese Party and State since 1991, and takes place immediately after the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 16th National Assembly election.
Developing bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Russia is in the long-term interests of both countries, according to Vietnam’s top leader. In addition to traditional fields, such as education and training, energy, culture, and arts, which are the foundation that needs to continue to be strengthened and renewed, new fields, such as maritime, railway, space, science and technology, innovation, and digital technology need to be concretized with sustainable, long-term and strategic projects.
General Secretary and President Lam said he believes that the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia will continue to flourish substantially and effectively, contributing positively to the cause of construction and development of each country, for the benefit of the two peoples, for peace, stability, cooperation and development of the region and the world.
