According to the schedule of Ha Long International Cruise Port, major cruise lines will bring visitors from the United States, Germany, Britain, Canada, China and other European markets to the northern Vietnamese province.
The fleet will range from ships carrying several hundred passengers to vessels capable of accommodating more than 2,000.
Bui Quang Tuan, director of Ha Long International Cruise Port, said several large Chinese cruise ships are returning to Vietnam this year.
“This year, Adora Magic City and Flora City, the largest cruise ships in China, are returning to Vietnam. In November, Magic City is expected to bring around 5,000 passengers to the port. Beyond bringing large numbers of Chinese tourists to Quang Ninh and Vietnam, cruise operators also hope to attract Vietnamese tourists traveling to China. This could help create a more sustainable cruise network linking China’s northern ports, Beihai, Hainan and Hong Kong with Vietnam,” said Mr. Tuan.
Travel operators are preparing tours featuring Ha Long Bay, the Quang Ninh Museum and Library, as well as local cultural, culinary and shopping destinations.
Quang Ninh is also promoting connections between Tuan Chau, Van Don and resort destinations to give cruise passengers more options during their stay.
