Meeting Apple Executive Chairman Tim Cook, Mr. Lam said Vietnam hopes Apple will continue to expand cooperation and make greater contributions to strengthening Vietnam’s technological capabilities, improving the quality of its human resources and enhancing its position in global value chains.
Mr. Cook said Apple looks forward to further expanding its presence in Vietnam, strengthening cooperation with local partners, developing supply chains, training human resources, and contributing to Vietnam’s digital transformation and innovation.
Meeting Chip Kaye, Chairman of Warburg Pincus, Party leader and President To Lam expressed his hope that the investment firm would continue helping Vietnam develop larger enterprises with stronger corporate governance and better access to international capital markets, while contributing to a more modern financial and investment ecosystem.
Meeting Boeing President Brendan Nelson AO, Mr. Lam asked Boeing to prioritize strengthening Vietnam’s position in the company’s supply chain and develop a program to increase the number of Vietnamese companies qualified to join Boeing’s supply chain, while gradually increasing procurement and production value in Vietnam.
