He made the remarks at a cultural and arts event in New York on Monday, which drew more than 2,000 delegates, including UN officials, American and international friends, and nearly 1,300 representatives of the Vietnamese diaspora in the US.
He called on the Vietnamese community in the US to put the past behind them and join hands in shaping the nation’s future.
Mr. Lam expressed his hope that Vietnamese people in the US will preserve the Vietnamese language and pass on the nation’s cultural values, customs and traditions to younger generations.
