The inaugural flight departed from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad and arrived at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi. The route will be operated by Vietnam Airlines with 4 round-trip flights per week.
“The Indian market is no longer just a potential market; it has become a key market for Vietnam. Airlines from both countries have steadily increased capacity following recent adjustments to a bilateral air services agreement. As Vietnam’s national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines will continue to expand its network in India and increase flight frequencies to destinations across India. In December, the airline plans to begin daily flights connecting Delhi with Hanoi and Bangalore with Hanoi,” said Nguyen Trung Hieu, Vietnam Airlines' Chief Representative in India.
The direct Hanoi–Ahmedabad route is Vietnam Airlines’ 7th route to India. Vietnam now has direct flights to 5 major Indian cities.
