(VOVworld) – Leaders of Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) on Friday visited the memorial monument to heroic Vietnamese mothers in Tam Phu commune in the central province of Quang Nam.
The monument, which is still under construction, was VOV’s initiative using the image of heroic mother Nguyen Thi Thu from Dien Ban district. The government has approved the monument as a national cultural work and is scheduled for completion on War Martyrs and Invalids Day July 27th, 2014.
During talks with provincial leaders, VOV General Director Nguyen Dang Tien said that VOV will continue to call for social donations to help construct the monument. Tien said he hoped that provinces nationwide will collect documents and objects relating to outstanding heroic Vietnamese mothers so that a museum in their honor will be built as part of the monument.
