(VOVworld) – VOV Vice President Vu Hai led a delegation to visit media agencies in Myanmar and India from July 18 to July 24 with the aim of promoting cooperation in radio and television as part of VOV’s development goal of becoming a multimedia group.
In Myanmar, Mr. Hai signed a cooperative agreement with Myanmar’s Radio and Television Station (MRTV), under which both sides will exchange radio and TV programs covering daily life, tourism, arts, culture, music, and education. They will also jointly produce programs with topics of mutual concern. VOV and MRTV agreed to exchange high level visits and meet every two years to discuss the implementation of their cooperative program. Their reporters and technicians will be facilited to work at each other’s station to help promote the image of Vietnam and Myanmar and their bilateral cooperation.
In India, the delegation held a working session with leaders of India’s Radio and Television Station (Prasar Bharati) and two of its affiliates Doordrashan Television Station and All India Radio. They discussed ways to boost the implementation of a cooperative agreement signed between VOV and Prasar Bharati in New Delhi last October.
The two sides will exchange programs featuring music, culture, cuisine, tourism, and films and increase communication on bilateral activities between Vietnam and India. Mr. Hai said that the delegation also visited to learn the operations of a number of major Indian media agencies such as Times of India, Press Trust of India, and Asian News International. They also paid a courtesy visit to Ton Sinh Thanh, Vietnamese ambassador to India, Bhutan and Nepal.
