VOV to enhance ties with Japanese broadcaster
(VOV) - General Director of Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) Nguyen Dang Tien has proposed a partnership to share cultural and entertainment programs with Japan-based Asahi Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). At a reception in Hanoi on November 1 for ABC President Wakisaka Satoshi, Mr Tien said close cooperation between the two countries’ leading broadcasting agencies will help Vietnamese people to learn more about Japan. VOV General Director also said he hopes to promote the exchange of delegations and experts with the Japanese broadcaster to share experience in communication work. Briefing his guest on the development of VOV over the past 60 years, Mr Tien said VOV is the only agency in Vietnam operating in all four genres of media, including radio, television, print and online.
For his part, ABC President Satoshi said he looks forward to strengthening cooperation with VOV. He said his company plans to expand its operations in the region and further afield, with VOV representing the first step in this strategy. Established in 1951, ABC has world-recognised experience in producing radio and television programs, as well as in organising major events in the Kansai region.
