(VOVWORLD) - VOVWorld organized the first writing contest entitled “Learning about Vietnam” for overseas Vietnamese and foreigners all over the world in 1980. It was a chance for listeners to show their understanding of Vietnam and a way for the Voice of Vietnam to learn about its popularity.

Since then the contest has been held every 5 years and renamed “What do you know about Vietnam?” VOV’s listeners are persons of various ages, interests, lifestyles, and professions. They are engineers, students, teachers, farmers, businesses, and office staff. A 90-year-old listener enthusiastically responded to VOV's contest.
