The Lam Dong provincial People’s Committee has asked to strengthen COVID-19 prevention measures, increase communications, encourage people to report any suspected case of illegal entry, and not to travel to epidemic-hit areas. Those who return from affected areas are asked to make a health declaration and follow all health regulations stipulated by relevant agencies.

Nguyen Duc Thuan, Director of the Lam Dong Department of Health, said: "We regularly train agencies to ensure coordinated actions in coping with COVID-19. The health system from the communal level to the provincial level works closely with relevant agencies and local administrations to promptly deal with entries from other localities, especially those from high risk areas."

Son La province requires wearing masks in public places and on public transport. The province has enhanced border control in order to detect and prevent illegal entry attempts.

In Nghe An province which has a 468 km border with 3 provinces of Laos, local border guards have strengthened control at 56 stationary check points and 11 mobile check points. Quang Ninh province has asked local agencies and the public to act responsibly in fighting the disease, to wear masks in public places and not to gather in big crowds. Relevant agencies have been asked to tighten border control and deal strictly with illegal entries.

Kien Giang border guards have strengthened control at land and water borders. The Ha Tien border guards have deployed 41 border posts and set up 4 mobile patrol teams at sea. They have also coordinated with Vietnam’s naval force and local administrations to raise public awareness in fighting COVID-19.

In Dong Thap province, which has a 50 km border and two international border gates, local border guards have set up several border posts manned by border guards, policemen, and militia who are on duty around the clock to ensure border security.
