Located 40km east of Tuy Hoa city, the rocky slope of Da Dia belongs to Tuy An district. It is difficult to reach the site, because the road is quite twisty but everyone is amazed by the romantic landscapes along the way: covered hills dotted with houses and rock fences. Le Hoang Thanh Tung, Director of the Tuy Hoa Tourist Company says the setting makes you think you are visiting the mountains rather than the beach. But beyond the final ridge appears a natural wonder.

It is an amalgam of thousands of stacked cylindrical stones. It forms a strange composition of tall crags that from a certain angle, resemble a honeycomb. We forgot our fatigue looking at this picturesque formation. Mr. Tung told us:"According to scientists, the site is located in the crater of an extinct volcano. The stones are made of volcanic rocks, which spewed from the crater, fell down to the sea and then broke into pieces with these unique shapes. According to some, Da Dia is the second largest such formation in the world after one in Mexico. In Vietnam, it is unique. "

Seen from afar, the site looks like a stack of earthenware plates. Up close, it is a stone giant with an area of one square km. According to geologists, there are about 35,000 basalt rocks here, which date back hundreds of millions of years. Nguyen Thanh Huong lives in Tuy An commune: "When I was little, I often came to swim in the sea and fish here. I’m proud to have been born here. I have traveled throughout the country, but nowhere else have I found such a landscape”.

Close to these rocks is a beautiful beach with turquoise waters known as "Almond beach", where almond trees grow wild everywhere. Hoang Thanh Tung says:"The rocky slope of Da Dia and the Almond Beach have now become a tourist attraction of Phu Yen province. Scuba diving is another interesting activity not to be missed. The dive site is located 10 km from the beach. No need for a wetsuit, just a goggle to see with your own eyes corals of all colors. "
