(VOVWORLD) - Building a transportation network is one of three breakthroughs set by the Ha Giang provincial Party Congress’s resolution until 2025 to promote local development. Under its plan, Ha Giang will prioritize investment in transportation infrastructure. Recently implemented projects will remove traffic bottlenecks, attract investment for socio-economic development, and support other breakthroughs.

As Vietnam’s northernmost border province, Ha Giang has recently received greater investment to upgrade its transportation infrastructure to improve connectivity and open up new development space.
Ha Giang’s resolution on transportation infrastructure until 2025 with a vision to 2030 mobilizes resources to implement high-connectivity transportation projects.
Ha Thi Minh Hanh, Deputy Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee, said, “To create a breakthrough in transportation infrastructure development, we are mobilizing resources and allocating them efficiently to develop a transportation system that serves local socio-economic development while ensuring national defense and security.”
Last October, the first phase of the Tuyen Quang-Ha Giang expressway project was begun. This project will create an economic development corridor from Hanoi and the Red River Delta to the northern mountain provinces.
Ha Giang has allocated resources and directed local agencies to quickly clear sites for construction.
Dao Ngoc Huan, chief of bidding package No. 3 of the Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Corporation (Vinaconex) in charge of constructing the Vinh Tuy-Bac Quang section, said the company has applied optimal construction methods to carry out the project in 3 shifts and ensure material coordination across the route, quality, safety, and progress for the bidding package.
There are additional projects to upgrade seven intra-province roads. These routes connecting Ha Giang city with other districts and border areas will serve both the transportation of goods and tourism development. Connecting remote districts will be difficult but inter-village roads will make those localities more prosperous.
According to Nguyen Kien Cuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Du Gia commune, Yen Minh district, Ha Giang province has invested in building a road system from Ha Giang to Dong Van, Meo Vac, and Yen Minh.
The convenience and beauty of these new roads is attracting more tourists to Ha Giang,” said Cuong.
The provincial museum, March 26 Square, Lo River weir, and Green Park have brought a new green yet modern look to Ha Giang city. Ha Giang has proposed adding a dual-use, military and civil airport to Vietnam’s Master Plan for airport development until 2030 with a vision to 2050.

Following the motto “The State and people work together”, Ha Giang has integrated resources from national target programs to build new paved roads in 11 districts and cities. By 2025 all border villages will have roads meeting the new-style rural standards.
Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son said, “Applying a mechanism involving both the State and local people, we are focusing on transportation infrastructure for border communes that meets the new-style rural standards. Developing this transportation infrastructure is very important for Ha Giang’s socio-economic development.”
Developing transportation infrastructure will help Ha Giang province maximize its potential and advantages, narrow the development gap between mountain and lowland areas, and permit Ha Giang to continue to develop.
