New Year’s Greetings by VOV Director General Nguyen Dang Tien - ảnh 1

"Dear listeners and overseas Vietnamese,

The year 2012 saw a lot of challenges, including the world economic woes and slow growth rate. The public debt crisis in Europe remains a major risk for the world economy despite early signs of waning. Vietnam has overcome several difficulties thanks to its flexible financial and economic solutions. Despite a 5% economic growth rate which is lower than last year, Vietnam has still enjoyed a stable macro economy, solid social welfare while securing national security and defense. Vietnam upholds its foreign policy of independence and openness for peace, cooperation and development with diversified and multilateralized international integration. Vietnam’s diplomacy has made significant progress raising the country’s image in the world fora, facilitating national development and the protection of national sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Party and State’s policies and foreign affairs sector have bridged the country with 4 million overseas Vietnamese turning their heart and mind to the homeland.

Radio Voice of Vietnam has made progress in all its media formats of radio, prints, TV and electronic newspaper. With advanced technology, VOV has solidified its position in the region and world media as well as Vietnamese revolutionary press. Its programs have ever stayed closer to listeners, bringing them a comprehensive picture of a dynamic Vietnam as a safe and trustworthy destination for tourists and investors. After just one year of launching, the external news portal, www.vovworld.vn has linked listeners and overseas Vietnamese to the radio as they could listen, watch and search information on the web.

In the New Year 2013, VOV will continue to promote its achievements, renovate content and format to serve listeners better, stay closer and win the trust of listeners.

On the New Year, on behalf of the radio staff, I would like to wish foreign listeners and overseas Vietnamese good health, prosperity and happiness".
