(VOVworld) – The KOVA Awards Committee held a ceremony in Hanoi on Saturday to present awards and scholarships to poor scientists, students, individuals and groups, to pursue advances in the areas of science and technology, and social welfare.

In her address, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan said: “The awards encourage collectives and individuals have innovations, contributing to society and Vietnam’s future. The awardees include a farmer in a mountain area who built a ploughing machine and an 80-year-old woman, who has been teaching poor children free of charge.”
