(VOVworld) – Delegates discussed preparations in detail for the 2014 United Nations Day of Vesak at the 2^nd conference of the International Council for the Day of Vesak held in the northern province of Ninh Binh on Thursday.

Celebrations will take place in the northern province of Ninh Binh from May 7-12 at Bai Dinh pagoda. The event is of great significance as it helps raise the Vietnam Buddhist Shangha’s position in its international integration, as well as showing Vietnam’s responsibilities towards the UN.
The event is expected to be an ideal opportunity for Vietnam to promote its country, culture, and people, especially the development of Vietnamese Buddhism over the past 2000 years.
