24 new domestic cases confirmed Friday morning, all in northern provinces

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam confirmed 24 local COVID-19 infections on Friday morning, raising the national count in its latest COVID wave to 1,786. 

The new cases were recorded in 4 northern provinces of Bac Giang (15), Dien Bien (6) Hai Duong (2) and Bac Ninh (1).

13 cases in Bac Giang are linked to a cluster at its Quang Chau Industrial Park. The other cases are in areas that have been isolated.

The cases Dien Bien had contact with COVID-19 patients.

The cases in Hai Duong are associated with a new hotspot in the province.

The case in Bac Ninh had contact with a COVID-19 patient.

Bac Giang has recorded the highest number of infections in the country, at 683, since COVID-19 re-emerged in the country on April 27. 

Vietnam has so far detected 4,833 cases with 2,689 recoveries and 39 deaths.
