(VOVworld)- The focal goals, agenda and opportunities for sustainable development in the East Asian seas were discussed during the 5^th East Asian Sea Congress in Da Nang city on Wednesday.

Delegates said the integrated coastal management has become a confirmed management system that helps achieve sustainable development targets locally, nationally and internationally. The delegates discussed the current investment landscape of integrated coastal management (ICM) in East Asia and the various investment models being applied in fisheries and other coastal sectors. Panelists agreed that more investment is needed to protect and enhance critical ecosystem services while contributing to sustainable development and growth of a blue economy.
