5th national congress of Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations concludes
(VOVworld) – The 5th national congress of Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations has concluded.
At the first meeting of the organization’s presidium for the period from 2013 to 2018 on Monday, 23 members of the Standing Committee and union’s major positions were elected. Vu Xuan Hong remained the Chairman of the Union and Don Tuan Phong as the Union’s Vice Chairman and Secretary General. Chairman Vu Xuan Hong addressed the closing ceremony: "The mission of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations is to promote friendship between Vietnam and friends around the world. We have tried our best to make contribution to boosting relations between Vietnam and other countries, making people the foundation for those relations".
The success of the congress marks a significant development milestone in promoting peace, solidarity and foreign non-governmental aids, making positive contribution to the people diplomacy.
