(VOVworld) – 63 Vietnamese outstanding farmers have been honored for their contributions to Vietnam’s agriculture, farmers, and rural development program.

Le Dinh Hoan from Quang Tri province was among the honorees at a ceremony in Hanoi on Saturday: “I traveled to the central highlands region and brought some seedlings with me to plant in my locality, which have helped to cover barren hills and develop our economy. I’m proud to represent Quang Tri farmers and I will continue to encourage them to plant forests as a way to escape poverty in remote and border areas.”

National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong and President of the Vietnam Farmers’ Association Nguyen Quoc Cuong presented certificates and medals of merit to the farmers.
