76 new cases bring Sunday’s count of COVID-19 infections to 129

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam confirmed 76 more local COVID-19 cases Sunday evening, raising the number of infections recorded during the day to 129, according to the Ministry of Health.
Of the new cases, 57 are in Bac Giang province and 19 are in Bac Ninh province.

All the cases in Bac Giang are linked to the province's Quang Chau, Van Trung and Song Khe-Noi Hoang industrial parks.

18 cases in Bac Ninh had contact with confirmed coronavirus cases and the other case was detected through COVID-19 screening.

Since the new wave of COVID-19 re-emerged in Vietnam on April 27, the nation has recorded 2,165 cases in 30 cities and provinces.

As of 6 pm on Sunday, Vietnam documented 3,734 local and 1,483 imported cases.

2,721 patients have recovered and 42 have died.

Over a million people in Vietnam have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
