The 8^th Conference of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor began in Hanoi on Wednesday. Reports delivered at the meeting showed that trade unions at all levels have renewed their operations and played an essential role in generating jobs and protecting workers’ rights and interest. A pilot project to form fisheries trade unions has been successful, helping to disseminate Vietnam’s policies to fishermen and support them in case of risks and accidents at sea.
