Activities mark 85th anniversary of CPV

(VOVworld) – Various activities have been held across Vietnam to mark the 85th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) on February 3rd.

The Nhan Dan or People’s newspaper ran an editorial highlighting enduring faith in the Party, adding that the establishment of the Party marked a great historical turning point in Vietnam’s revolutionary history. This was a resplendent milestone in Vietnam’s struggle for national independence, unification, and national construction. According to the article, Vietnamese people are proud of the heroic, creative, and humane Vietnamese nation, of the Party, a revolutionary party which is ready to do anything for the public interest.

The Quan Doi Nhan Dan or People’s Army newspaper wrote that Vietnam’s military forces put all their faith in the Party’s leadership.

Vietnam’s media on Tuesday covered features and photos describing activities to commemorate the Party’s birth, including a meeting in Hanoi. Many papers published the full text of Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong’s speech promising to continue upholding the fine tradition, and fortifying the Party’s revolutionary nature and vanguard role toward building a strong and transparent Party.

An art performance was held on Monday in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum, with songs and dances praising the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and Vietnam’s renewal and development achievements.

A delegation of HCM city’s leaders, headed by Party Secretary Le Thanh Hai, paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at the HCM Museum on Tuesday to mark the 85th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV). A ceremony was also held the same day to honor the city’s 85 most outstanding Party secretaries. Honoree Nguyen Nguyet Hue, Party Secretary of the municipal Bar Association, said: “Party organizations should have widespread activities to communicate Party and revolutionary ideals among young people. Their annual plans should include encouraging youth union members to get involved in charity and humanitarian activities.”

Celebrations were also organized in provinces throughout Vietnam to mark the occasion and to review patriotic emulation movements in 2014 and launch new programs for this year.

The Vietnamese embassy in Japan held a ceremony to commemorate the event and launch emulation movements toward Party congresses at all levels and the 12th National Party Congress.  Ambassador Doan Xuan Hung reviewed the history of the CPV and highlighted its contributions to asserting Vietnam’s position and status in the region and the world.
