(VOVWORLD) -Activities continue nationwide to express the nation’s gratitude to war invalids and martyrs and commemorate War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27.

Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education, stressed the importance of paying gratitude to heroic martyrs and visiting policy families and revolution contributors, and called it part of the nation's moral tradition of "Drinking water, remember the source".

At a working session with the Party Committee and people   of Thu Duc city in HCMC, Nghia said the workdemonstrates the responsibility and affection of the Party, State, agencies at all levels, and the whole society.

An art program was held at Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery in Quang Tri province to raise money for ceramic vases and silk flowers to place on 50,000 martyrs' graves in 72 local cemeteries. This activity has been done annually since 2014.
