Activities underway to mark Vietnamese War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day

(VOVworld) – Various activities have been underway across the country to show gratitude to war invalids and martyrs on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the day on July 27th.

Chairman of Đà Nẵng City People's Committee Văn Hữu Chiến (L) presented Independence Merits to families of revolutionary fallen soldiers.

Đà Nẵng authorities on Monday presented the Independence Order to 47 families of revolutionary fallen soldiers. Văn Hữu Chiến, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, expressed his deep gratitude to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the national liberation and defense. He said the Party and Government always honor their contributions and sacrifice and will provide policies to support the martyrs’ relatives. Chiến also expressed his belief that the martyrs’ families will uphold their honorable tradition to be good examples for the next generations.
On this occasion, in Đồng Nai province 18 thousand families, who rendered great services to the nation, were presented gifts from the State President while the provincial authorities have spent more than 600,000 USD to assist policy beneficiaries.
Phú Thọ province has used 250,000 USD from the local budget to present gifts for nearly 800 policy beneficiaries, war invalids, and relatives of fallen soldiers.
