Around 5 storms to hit Vietnam mainland in 2019

(VOVWORLD) - Up to 12 storms or tropical low pressure are forecast to hit the East Sea this year, five of which will likely strike Vietnam’s mainland from July to December 2019, according to the National Weather Centre. 

In the July-October period, average temperature nationwide will be 0.5- 1 Celsius degree higher than the average in the same period of previous years. Floods will also occur whileflash floods and landslides are at high risk in the northwest. The dry season in central coastal and south central provinces is likely to last tillSeptember.
