(VOVWORLD) -Today marked the 23rd anniversary of the death of Trinh Cong Son, one of Vietnam's best songwriters whose music explores themes of love, loss, and anti-war sentiments.
As an annual custom, Son’s relatives, friends, and fans gathered at the 3D Museum at 47C Pham Ngoc Thach, where the late musician lived during his lifetime, to remember him. Then they visited the musician's grave at Go Dua cemetery, Thu Duc city, Ho Chi Minh City.
A music night themed "Trinh Cong Son - Adventure of a Lifetime" will take place the same evening in Ho Chi Minh City.
In Hanoi, a performance called “Like Flying Bird” will be held at Hanoi Opera House on Monday night and performed by pop stars My Linh, Ha Le, Ngoc Anh, Nguyen Ha, and Luu Huong Giang.
The "Trinh Cong Son Music Study and Performance Group" was launched on Monday, a collaboration between the family of Trinh Cong Son and the Vietnam Study Center of Fulbright University Vietnam.
The group is responsible for in-depth research on the lyrics, philosophy and style of the talented musician and at the same continuing the plan of transferring it to the younger generation.
