ASEAN, Japan strengthen cooperation for prosperity
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung has underlined the important role of Japan as ASEAN’s 4th largest trade partner, 2nd biggest investor, and leading ODA provider.

Minister Dung was speaking at a symposium in Hanoi on Tuesday on ASEAN-Japan cooperation for prosperity.
“As the coordinator for ASEAN-Japan from 2018 through 2021, Vietnam is doing its best to create an effective bridge linking the two sides. Vietnam hopes that Japan will continue to help ASEAN countries advance high technologies and make full use of the ASEAN-Japan free trade agreement,” said Minister Dung.
The meeting, the first major event of the “2019 ASEAN-Japan Day in Vietnam” initiative, was focused on cooperation in smart city building, high-quality agriculture, among others.
