(VOVworld) - The Asia - Europe Social Enterprise Day was held on Wednesday in Hanoi under the theme: “Empowering Social Innovations: Landscape and Collaboration”. Organizers were the British Council, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Asia Europe Foundation (ACEF). The event praised enterprises’ diverse efforts and initiatives to settle social and environmental issues such as eco-tourism, production and distribution of solar equipment and vocational training for people with disabilities. 30 models of social enterprises from Vietnam, Asia and Europe have been participating in the program.

Nguyen Quang Vinh, Secretary General of the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development says: “Social enterprises are mostly small and medium sized, so they need cooperation with big companies including state groups or multinational groups. Social enterprises should be included the value chains and assisted to develop and contribute more for Vietnam in the future.”
