Foreign Minister Julie Bishop announced the additional contribution of three people on Thursday morning, adding that an additional senior Australian Federal Police officer will also be deployed to support planning and coordination efforts.

A team of more than 30 US military personnel from the US Indo-Pacific Command, including pararescue and survival specialists, and 6 AFP diving experts arrived at the site earlier to assist Thai search and rescue efforts.

Thai authorities on Wednesday said lessons on swimming and diving will be provided for the 12 young footballers and their coach as part of preparations to get them out of the cave.
