Australian PM begins overseas tour

(VOVworld) -  Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull arrived in Indonesia Thursday, the first destination of his 12-day overseas tour.

Turnbull will meet with Indonesian President Joko Widodo to discuss enhancing bilateral trade ties. He said Australia hopes for an increased annual two-way trade with Indonesia to 12 billion AUD and the approval of a Free Trade Agreement and an Australia-Indonesia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
The two will discuss regional challenges such as violent extremism and the refugee crisis.
Turnbull is scheduled to visit Germany on Friday, then attend the G20 summit in Turkey, the Asia-Pacific economic cooperation forum in the Philippines, and the East Asia summit in Malaysia.
