(VOVworld) – The Ho Chi Minh Youth Union held an award ceremony for a photo contest featuring the Communist Party of Vietnam in Hanoi on Monday.

The contest was launched in May 5, 2015. Organizers received more than 12,000 entries from 1,200 contestants across Vietnam. There was a first prize, a second prize, a third prize, three consolation prizes, and a special prize for the youth union that sent the most entries. First prize winner Nguyen Dang Khoa said: “My photo depicts Vietnamese coastguards requesting China to withdraw its oil drilling rig and vessels from Vietnam’s continental shelf and exclusive economic zone. The contest is very significant in promoting youth union activities in all areas including national defense, new rural development, and education.”
