(VOVworld) - A national festival honoring Don Ca Tai Tu or amateur music will open in the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu this April.

The event taking place from 20 to 25 of April will include the granting of a UNESCO certificate recognizing amateur music as an intangible cultural heritage of mankind. Deputy Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Thi Ai Nam, said the festival aims to promote the art while preserving traditional cultural identities: “We have geared up efforts to ensure thorough preparation for the festival. The provincial authorities will encourage more communication about the festival and speed up construction of event venues. These will leave a good impression for visitors and ensure a successful festival.”
