(VOVworld) – Liu Yunshan, a senior leader of the Communist Party of China, has affirmed that Beijing is ready to cooperate with Pyongyang to resume the 6-party talks on nuclear issue.

Liu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the statement during talks with Kim Jong Un, the top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on Friday.

Kim said the DPRK needs a peaceful and stable external environment as it is striving to develop economy and improve people's livelihood.

Liu is heading a CPC delegation to attend activities marking the 70th founding anniversary of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea.

Liu took this occasion to present a signed letter from General Secretary Xi Jinping and conveyed Xi's cordial greetings and best wishes to the Korean leader on the 70th anniversary of the Party’s founding.
