Big rally against terrorism takes place in France

(VOVworld) - More than 700,000 people on Saturday took to streets across France in tribute to the 17 people killed in three days of violence by Islamist extremists, according to the French interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve.

The crowd carried banner calling for people to "Live together, free, equal and in solidarity". French Prime Minister Manuel Valls called on everyone in France join the demonstrations of unity on Sunday. More than 1 million people together with leaders of many nations are expected to take part in this event. More than 5,500 policemen and militants are mobilized to ensure the security in Paris. French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said that this will be an extraordinary demonstration showing the power and the dignity of the French people.
