Organized by the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, the program will give the donated blood to hospitals across the country, especially those in Ho Chi Minh city and other southern localities which are severely hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

To ensure safety during the pandemic, blood donors are advised to register in advance and book for time and donation venues.

The Institute plans to organize mobile blood donation events during the period of social distancing in Hanoi. The Institute collects between 500 and 600 blood units per day.

Over the past few days, the program has collected more than 24,000 blood units
