Among the various ideas were that the revision should concentrate on raising the role of the customs sector in boosting export and import activities to minimize the side-effects of anti-smuggling measures. National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said that the revised Law should be comprised of regulations to minimize expenses on customs services and ensure smooth public customs procedures. "The regulations should make customs procedures transparent. We have to ensure state governance while building friendly customs services with business. Regulations relating to civil rights, particularly measures to prevent smuggling and cross-border illegal goods transportation must be in line with the Constitution."
The National Assembly Standing Committee also discussed the supervisory report on the implementation of law and policies on educational quality, curricular, and textbooks.
