Cambodia proposes opening travel corridor for intra-ASEAN businesses

(VOVWORLD) - Cambodian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn has called on ASEAN to establish a travel corridor to promote safe travel for business during the COVID-19 period.

Prak Sokhonn’s statement was issued on Thursday by Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in regards to the 53rd ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM 53), which is being held online until Saturday.

Minister Prak Sokhonn emphasized the need for ASEAN to maintain solidarity and neutrality to properly implement set principles in the context of increasing tensions among major powers and challenging multilateralism.

He said that the ASEAN Regional Mine Action Center (ARMAC) will have a new CEO by mid-October and applaud Vietnam's initiative to set up the Friends of ARMAC (FOA) group to mobilize support for the center.
