Cambodian PM backs further crime prevention cooperation with Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) -Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has called on Cambodia and Vietnam to strengthen cooperation in crime prevention and control, particularly drug crimes and high-tech crimes, cooperation to improve law enforcement capacity, and coordinating to handle legal documents for people of Vietnamese origin living in Cambodia.

Cambodian Prime Minister on Wednesday met with Vietnam’s Minister of Public Security To Lam who is visiting Cambodia. PM Hun Manet applauded the outcomes of the talks between the Cambodian Ministry of Interior and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security.

He told his guest that Cambodia and Vietnam should not to allow hostile and reactionary elements to take advantage of this country's territory to sabotage the other country.

Minister To Lam expressed his confidence that Prime Minister Hun Manet will continue to inherit and promote the achievements of the previous generation, lead a team of young leaders, and continue to cultivate traditional relationship between Cambodia and Vietnam.

He emphasized that at the talks between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia, the two sides agreed to give the highest priority to ensuring national security and maintaining social order and safety, closely coordinate to build a border area of peace, stability and development.
